Replacing a Roadmaster Towbar Shank- Video

Replacing a Roadmaster Towbar Shank

Today we're going to be showing you how to replace the tow bar shank assembly on a road master tow bar, part number 910019-40. We're going to be using this in conjunction with the nut, which is going to be part number RM350264-10, and a replacement bolt, part number RM350191-00, and the two nylon washers that go in the center, part number RM350358-00. You can see here on our sterling tow bar that our customer had an incident where they backed up, what you should not do with these tow bars, and they snapped off the shank, which is this part and it goes right there. In order to fix that we're going to put a replacement shank, a new bolt and nut, and two of these nylon washers that go on the inside to make it swivel easily. We'll start with an 1 1/8" socket and wrench. We're going to go ahead and remove that. Now the metal washers on the outside, we're going to go ahead and reuse, because they're not damaged. The nylon washers we're going to go ahead and replace. more
